User Experience
User Experience is a holistic term describing a practice that is concerned with the dynamics (dialog / interaction that occurs) between Users and Stakeholders via the stakeholders Proposition and how this is facilitated by the Technology within the context of Environment.

Each of the dynamics referenced above are summarised below to aid clarification of each, the nature of the dynamics between each one will be explained in detail within the CDUXD framework that is being worked on currently.
Users:
- public person or persons
- private person or persons
- adminstrators
Stakeholders:
- person
- persons
- community
- business
- organsation
- environment
Proposition:
- website
- application
- product
- service
- media
Technology:
- software platform
- hardware platform
Environment:
- Competitors or like propositions
- Geographical point of access
- Users environment
- Users associated activities
- Time (considerations to proposition and user)
A broad definition? yes, however this site has a specific focus, User Centric Design / HCI (Human Computer Interaction), and is intended to aid software projects.
Primarily User Experience will act as an umbrella title for the following fields;
- Digital Service Strategy
- Business Analysis
- Information Architecture
- Interaction Design
- Usability Testing
- Information Design
- Interface Design
I am currently producing a User Experience framework aimed specifically at cross discipline development teams, which is finally getting closer to release as a first public draft. I have been developing and using this framework for many years extending and reshaping many times.
As you may expect this has taken considerable effort studying, practicing, creating and bringing together, not to mention distilling nearly 9 years project experience, common sense, and best practices but I hope this will help everyone achieve better results in creating software.
User Experience framework goals
- Provide a clear vision of thought and process required to develop better software.
- Provide an effective User Experience focused framework that can be used easily by all project team disciplines through the project lifecycle
- Provide an effective mechanism for knowledge capture and best practice development
As well as the relevance to all members of the software development team, it will also help us to improve the way with communicate and work Stakeholders and Users.
I will also be using this frame work on this site to focus and structure User Experience content. More information on the CDUXD (cross discipline user experience design) framework can be found here.
For now I hope that the references under UX Book Reviews & Reading and the UX Online Resources are useful to you.
